Update the name of the "Add" dialog to "Add - Anki"

I use ActivityWatch to track my time spent on the laptop. It tracks using the title of the window, and the title of the add dialog is basically “Add,” which is quite a generic term.

If you could make it a little bit unique by making it “Add - Anki” or something else completely specific to Anki, that would be quite helpful.

Also, any other such dialog that has generic terms changed to something unique would be great.

A few “separate” secondary windows come to mind – “Add” note, as you mentioned, but also “Browse,” “Edit Current” note, and Card Info, which can be either from Browse or from the study screen for the Current or Previous card. I’m characterizing them as “separate” because they allow you to still access the main window without closing them – unlike a “dialog box”-type window that requires you to deal with it first before returning to the main window (e.g. Options, Preferences, Stats, etc.). [I expect there’s a more specific, technical term that I’m forgetting for this sort of window. ]

But these windows are grouped together as belonging to the main Anki process and none of them will stay open when the main window/app is closed. Does your tracker program not have a way to group/attribute/categorize those windows as belonging to the same app?

That would be a modal dialog :slightly_smiling_face:

Someday I’ll teach myself why it’s called that, and I’m sure everything will fall into place!

The names of Anki dialogs are translated into all languages, so I think it is not very easy to change the names. It may be possible to use software that changes the title of the window.(I have not tried this so I don’t know, and closing the dialog may reset it?)
