Update shared deck with different subdeck structure

Hello,

I’m working on building a deck and I would like to share intermediate versions of it in AnkiWeb. Because it is still in draft state, I don’t have all the details figured out yet and I am wondering how the “upload to ankiweb” mechanism will work if subdecks are changed/modified/deleted/added.

I checked the documentation and I got that the deck must have the same name, does that apply only for the parent deck or does it include subdecks?

For example, if I share a deck named “A” and later I update it and upload a new version that has the deck “A” and two sub-decks: “A::b” and “A::c”. Will it be considered an update on the previous deck or I will have to create a new page for it?

I think it’s a safe bet that it will be considered the same deck. The top-level deck needs to remain the same, but changes to internal organization don’t seem like they would be an impediment. Contributing - Anki Manual
