I just updated to iPadOS 18 Beta, and now I’m unable to select text on Anki like before. When I double-tap to select a word, the keyboard is hidden. This only happens specifically on Anki’s add/edit card screen.
Probably this has to do with the new version of the OS, but is something the devs should keep an eye on for the next updates
Thanks for letting us know - hopefully this is something Apple will resolve in a subsequent beta.
I hope this get resolved soon. It is difficult to downgrade.
This problem only exist in the anki app.
I tried various ones like notes, and you can still select text by double tapping.
For anki on ipados 18, you can only do so by pressing the word for a few seconds, which is way longer compared to just double tapping, specially if you plan to select multiple words.
This makes editing and making cloze cards on the ipad more time consuming than before.
The other apps may not be using a webview. If this issue is still present by the time iOS gets to the release candidate stage, I’ll see if I can figure out a workaround.
