Troubleshooting Network Error - Add On Fix

Good day,

my iphone stopped connecting to the network. as i was troubleshooting turned on the desktop with the disable add on step and now it’s syncing beautifully. the trouble is that i don’t have any add ons, so i don’t have a permanent fix, only holding down the shift key whenever i open the desktop. any thoughts? everything is updated. Thank you in advance.

Starting desktop Anki in safe mode also skips automatic syncing on open – so it sounds like you’re still having issues syncing. See: Error establishing a secure connection when syncing - Anki FAQs .

No that’s not it. None of these things apply

Does that mean you checked/tried all of them, and nothing helped? Or that you have decided they don’t apply and you’re not interested in trying?

I tried the ones that applied but it didn’t resolve the issue.

You can stop trying things whenever you want. But you’re having an error where your device won’t connect to AnkiWeb’s servers, so that’s going to keep happening until you figure out what’s getting in the way.

  • Do you use anything on your devices or in your connection setup that filters / redirects / limits your network traffic – like iCloud private relay, which is essentially a VPN?
  • Do you live in an area of the world where access to portions of the internet might be limited or blocked without notice or reason (for instance, by the government)?

no. but this time i got a different issue:

httperror code 303 context “reading stream” source some (custom {kind: connectionaborted, error: “stream failure (code=303)”
