Tried All Troubleshooting Steps – Still Getting “Invalid Params Provided

I’m reaching out because I’ve been experiencing persistent issues with my Anki installation. Initially, I received the error message: “Anki encountered a problem. Please follow the troubleshooting steps. The problem may be caused by an add-on.” After following the recommended steps and disabling all add-ons, the error changed to: “invalid weights provided” and, later, “invalid params provided.” Since then, I haven’t been able to use Anki properly with my main profile.

Here’s what I’ve already tried: I updated to the latest version (25.02.7 for macOS), disabled and deleted all add-ons, opened Anki in safe mode, completely reinstalled Anki, and even restarted my computer.

I would really appreciate any guidance on how to resolve this issue without losing my progress.

  1. Have you checked the database (Tools, Check Database), after you have made a back-up of your system?
  2. What is the language of your interface (“weights” seems like a strange term)?

It looks like a error related to FSRS parameters. If you go to deck options, empty the FSRS parameters field and save, does it resolve the issue?

Yes, I just tried clearing the FSRS parameters field in the deck options and it worked, the issue is gone now. Thank you so much for the suggestion!

Just curious, how did you come to use invalid params? I can’t save anything invalid because it blanks the field when I do it.
