I’ve been using 24.11 on my mac mini all day, which has the M4 chip and it’s all working great.
I just downloaded 24.11 for my old macbook air which has the intel chip, and it all synced fine, but the parameters are clearly still on FSRS 4.5. It has the new sort orders, it handles removing the learning/relearning steps correctly, but the parameters are clearly FSRS 4.5. I studied the same card on each and they’re scheduling them slightly differently, so it’s not just a display issue.
So I did “Optimize All Presets” on the macbook air and they updated to FSRS 5. Thing is, the numbers were different than on my mac mini. I tried optimizing the same deck on each machine and they both returned the “already optimized” prompt. I synced both and the mac mini adopted the macbook air numbers.
I’m wondering, if you do “Optimize All Presets” does it force it to optimize everything, but if you do a deck individually, it won’t optimize (“already optimized” prompt) if the numbers are too close to what they already are?
Anyway, weirded out that the numbers came out different considering I only studied a few dozen cards today. Wouldn’t think that would make a huge difference. But optimizing everything on the intel chip fixed it. Still wanna pass along that the parameters weren’t syncing right though.
