Sync fails for new profiles

Trying to add a new profile because both my sister and I use anki, sometimes on the same computer. Wen going to add my account, I enter my ID and password and it shows this message about how syncing failed:


I’ve updatd to the newest ank version, restarted the application, restarted the computer, and have searched far and wide on google. It was mentioned that I can log off and on using “preferences > network” but that didnt work either.I have 3 exams in the next 4 days so any advice would be amazing.

That message indicates you’re opening an old version of Anki.
