Suspend entire note

on the new anki version when I suspend one specific card the entire note gets suspended. Is there a way I can overcome this? or do I have to manually undo it?

There are specific commands to bury/suspend cards and notes, probably you’re using the wrong one.

I am using ‘command+1’ during review to suspend the card. I have always used it on the previous versions but it’s only on the new version that I noticed this.

Check the appropriate shortcut for your system and use it.
