Streamline user interface

I have the following suggestions for improving the UI, basically to the way it works in AnkiDroid.

  1. I review several packs every day. When I click on the pack, it opens another page with a button “Study”, which I have to click to start the review? Why? I personally want to study 99,5% of times I open the app and only occasionally do I add/modify cards.

Proposal: The review should open immediately upon clicking on the pack name, all other activities possible can be hidden in a three-dot menu or something similar. Or there could be buttons for two-three other most frequent actions next to each pack for people who are still building their packs, the screen is quite empty.

  1. After I have finished the review of a pack, after the last card, I get a completely useless “Congratulations” screen and again I need one more click to get rid of it.

Proposal: After finishing the last card the app should return directly to the list of packs.

I agree, of course. But there are buttons there, which in Android are all placed in submenus. Some addons use this screen to display their deck stats, which is generally convenient. I don’t remember the congratulations screen, but it’s also possible some addons might use it for their own purposes.
So, I’m all for allowing the user to customize it, whether they need it or not. I even saw an addon somewhere that skips straight to the tutorial…maybe someone else here remembers its name and can answer.

The AI said it’s an addon: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/295525470
I saw that there’s one like this too: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/425258424
And there are probably a bunch more, it’s just really hard to find, and sometimes it’s easier to make your own to suit your needs.

Thanks for pointing out the add-ons, I will test them and see if they could help. At first glance they seem to have been prompted by the same thinking as mine.

Annoyingly, AnkiDroid will probably become like Anki Desktop rather than this solid suggestion!

For now, you can press s or d to get in and out of the study screen.
