Hi,

I wonder if we should add a functionality to mark the deck as a favorite deck since I downloaded a lot of deck on the internet but in reality I only used ~20% of them. Since I have a lot of decks, I have to scroll a long way to go to the deck that I want. I would be willing to contribute to this if you allow me!

I guess @ferophila means something along the lines of “If you don’t use most of your decks, it’s best to export them to a safe location and then remove them from anki”.

Hey, thank you for your response. So what about grouping feature, where we can group together the deck in the same interest?

You mean as in creating a subdeck? E.g.

main_deck_animals
   sub_deck_dogs
   sub_deck_cats
       sub_sub_deck_abyssinian
       sub_sub_deck_aegean
       sub_sub_deck_american_bobtail
   sub_deck_ducks

Correct. One could also download decks but not import them. This reduces initial sync times, saves space on mobile devices and doesn’t put strain on Anki’s servers.

like we can put the decks into their related folder

You can make empty decks for the top-level grouping and then put the rest of the decks inside. Just drag and drop them on the main screen.

I really want to contribute something to anki but the issues is just far too advanced for me and there’s literally not much beginner friendly problem. Can any one help?

I know how you feel. But if the code side is too difficult for you, then you could also help with translations or answering questions (either in this forum or on reddit).

I lack coding skills too. So I mostly help with user questions, some german translations and testing features (especially in anki beta releases).
