My Spotify audio is muffled when I try to review Anki using my phone using headphones. I have the latest versions of both AnkiMobile and Spotify.
The volume of my music on my phone doesn’t show a change, but the sound is audibly quieter with Anki. I have turned off all audio settings within Anki (audio buttons, interrupt current audio, autoplay in silent mode, always duck background) as none of my cards have audio. I also checked that Spotify audio settings are not affecting this.
A search in some online Spotify forums mentioned that the Anki app itself may be suppressing audio. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated. Thank you.
- Does this issue occur with other music-streaming or radio apps? For example, the Apple Music app or Pandora?
- Does this issue occur when you listen to Spotify on your iPhone’s speakers, not using headphones?
- What type of headphones are you using? Wired? AirPods? Bluetooth headphones of some other sort?
Could you also please provide some background information?
- What version of iOS are you using?
(I performed a brief test and was not able to reproduce this behavior on my iPhone on iOS 27.0.1 and with the Apple Music, iHeart, and Zeno Radio apps. However, I was using my iPhone’s speakers, not headphones.)
Hi, just tested it again and issue seems to have resolved itself? Very strange! Hopefully this doesn’t happen again. Maybe it has something to do with where I was earlier? Or maybe I had to fully quit and restart Anki for the settings to change?
- I don’t have either app.
- No, but the issue as a whole seems to have resolved.
- I use Bluetooth Bose QC SE headphones.
- I’m on iOS 26.5.2.
Thanks, and feel free to delete this post since it seems to have been a fluke incident.
