I’ve tested Anki 24.04, 24.06, and 24.10, and in all of them, the spacebar does not work correctly in review mode. Approximately every third card doesn’t respond to the spacebar. If I switch to another window or left-click somewhere, the spacebar works for this card as expected afterward.
I’ve tried running Anki in –safemode (without add-ons) and with different video drivers (Vulkan, OpenGL, software), but nothing changed.
However, in Anki 23.12.1, the spacebar works fine, but mpv >0.37 doesn’t. Is there a way to install mpv 0.37 specifically for use with Anki? Because I needed 0.39 for other apps
Compiled builds of Anki are available on https://apps.ankiweb.net. Most of the necessary libraries are included, and Anki has been tested to work with these library versions. If you’re experiencing issues with your distro’s version, the first thing you should try is switching to the latest packaged version we provide.
You are welcome to continue using your distro’s version of Anki if you prefer, but if you run into any issues, you will need to report them to your distribution’s package maintainers. Linux Distro Packages - Anki Manual
It sounds like a rendering problem. I’m surprised software mode did not help; we’ve only had one previous report where it did not. You presumably made sure to restart Anki afterwards? Does it happen with both Qt5 and Qt6 builds?
