If you put an extra space at the end of your answer, you get a mismatch on the Mac and iPhone versions. This is a little trivial but it also seems silly. When learning sentences, it’s easier to hit “space” twice to get the period (stop) to appear on the iPhone, but that causes a mismatch.
Also, it’s possible that you might accidentally add a space when entering data. (I haven’t tested this) that might result in a mismatch.
It would be nice if an extra space(s) at the beginning or end of an answer don’t throw a mismatch.
Yes, you can ignore it, but you have to double-check it to see if you missed something. It is a trivial issue, but it’s kind of annoying to be told you’re wrong when you’re not.
I’d expect the comparison to be identical on both platforms. Please follow the steps on Troubleshooting - Anki Manual, and if you can still reproduce the difference, please let us know.
I’m sorry, for some reason I thought you were saying AnkiMobile is behaving differently here. We can’t strip leading spaces, as users may use them for indentation. Trailing spaces that mean something are less common, but it might be a little confusing to handle them differently. I will keep an eye on demand for this, in any case.
