Sound recording is using the wrong input device in Qt6 version

When I turn on sound recording, no sound is recorded. When I open pavucontrol, I see that the application selects the wrong input device (microphone). When I change the input device, the sound recording starts. When I finish recording sound and start again, the wrong input device is selected again. This issue is only with Anki in Qt6 version. On Qt5 version works correctly.

Anki: Version ⁨25.02 (038d85b1)⁩
Python 3.9.18 Qt 6.6.2 PyQt 6.6.1

OS: Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS

I would be very grateful for your help. If any additional information is needed, I will be glad to provide it.

This appears to be a Qt issue. Anki relies on Qt to use the default input device: QAudioSource Class | Qt Multimedia 6.8.2

I cannot help much as I had similar issues on Mint 22, but I downloaded the app and used it to record the sound. Browse cards, select a card, click the front or the back after the word. click on the paper clip symbol. go to record audio. click on record. Save to end. Dont forget to click the check mark. It worked very easily on my phone with not one config. issues.

Apparently, naming the phone and maybe the system (who knows) might be construed as spam by some people. But, if you need that info pm me. Dont forget to say thanks.

Your original message was flagged as spam not because you mentioned Mint or Android, but because you posted very basic instructions for how to use the feature, and it didn’t seem at all related to the user’s question or very helpful. That type of message is usually posted by a bot.

Thanks for the heads-up. It is related as it is a work around and it helped me, as a person who has a million other projects and saw no resolution to a similar problem I had. As to the “basic” instructions, well, it might be needed. The paper clip symbol is not exactly intuitive. Saving it twice isnt too. Geniuses find outside of the box solutions and prevent problems. As to the idea that I was a bot, why would a bot make so many typos? But, thanks for the explanation. Much appreciated.
