Setting the New Cards Options

I am finding that some of the child desk have different scheduling for card reviews. My parent deck has the following option in the New Card Options:

But, several of Child decks have strange review scheduling. When I check the option for that Child deck it shows the parent deck options. Below is an example of return interval is on this Child deck:

I’m sure I screwed something up. I have tried to search Google, but I don’t know what to call these option settings.

You’ll have better luck starting with the manual that with Google. Everything in there goes by the same name as in the app. Those options are addressed in the Deck Options section – Deck Options - Anki Manual .

There’s a couple of things that could be happening here. If I use any terminology you don’t recognize, check that manual page, and the tooltip :grey_question:’s (above each section of options) for more information.

(1) It sounds like you’ve already made sure the settings are saved to the child deck(s) as well. It also matters what deck you click to study.

(2) The intervals on those buttons are correct for those learning steps/intervals. Make sure you understand how the learning steps work – Studying - Anki Manual – and what Fuzz Factor is – Studying - Anki Manual. The first time you see a card, you should expect:

  • Again is the 1st step = 1m
  • Hard is half-way between Again and Good = 12h
    • Because that interval is so long, when you study in evening it will cross the day boundary to tomorrow (based on your next-day-starts time), so it converts to 1d instead.
  • Good is the next step = 1d
  • Easy is the Easy interval = 15d

Danika_Dakika, Thank you so much for your patience and guidance on where to read in the manual. I think I understand now that the intervals are based on where I am in my reviewing for any specific card.

Yes, that’s correct. After the cards are introduced, you’ll have different intervals for different cards based on each card’s review history.

Hey what´s up, if you may, I need your help. I had installed awesome TTS Plus, made all the recommendations of the videos and manuals from the site like adding the API Key verifying it, and so forth, and then, when I was about to add some sentences, it appeared this: Status code: 403 (b’{“detail”: “Authentication credentials were not provided.”}')". I don’t know what it is, it appears every time I try to place a word or sentence to preview.

Please don’t do try to hijack another user’s post on a completely different issue. You already posted this in your own thread, and doing this will not get you help any faster.
