I was searching about the functions of Anki and watched a video about Flashcard Deluxe. Flashcard Deluxe has a function where you can divide the revision into blocks. For example, if I have 40 cards to review, I can divide them into 4 blocks of 10 cards each and do them one after another or do one block in the morning, another in the afternoon, and another in the evening. Is there a way to do the same thing on Anki?
There isn’t a specific feature in Anki for this, but I can offer you the ways I’ve done it anyway –
- Use a Filter deck with
"deck:NAME" prop:due<=0
and limit it to 10 cards (I call mine “Sprint” because I use it whenever I feel like my daily cards are just too many to tackle, and I want to sprint through a little chunk of them). Whenever you’re ready to study, build that deck, and study until it’s empty (including dealing with lapses and relearning). You can use it as many times a day as you want. - Set a timer for 15m (or however long you want to spend) – and just take a break when you’re done with that session. The downside is that if you have cards on short steps, you’re not going to see them until later in the day.

For the second option, there’s also a timebox option in the preferences.

Yes! I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. Preferences - Anki Manual
