yesterday my little cousin just deleted the ankidroid app with its 20 gb
I actually had an account and synced just a month ago but when I reapploaded the app ; there was too much chaos in my head I synced it again before it actually retrieved my files .
long story short professionals could not retrieve anything from the device and I heard that you guys could restore my files from anywhere before this black thursday really
you guys are my last hope so I hope @dae could help me as my exams are rapidly approaching … I would be forever grateful
If there’s a server-side backup available, Damien will respond when he sees that message. Instead of waiting for that longshot, there are a few other things you can think about.
It sounds like you had already upgraded to AnkiDroid 2.17 or higher, and it was using the new isolated file location. How long ago did you do that? [2.17 was released Feb/Mar 2024.] If it was relatively recently, you should check the old (default) storage location on your phone and see if your collection is still there – /storage/emulated/0/AnkiDroid.
Are there any other devices that you synced with your AnkiWeb account?
those cards are the ones i had last year i added so many modifications after that so those cards are basically useless
I want the collection I had before the incident that happened thursday 22 so let’s say wednesday or before

I’m afraid I can’t see any evidence of you syncing a month ago, so there are no recent backups prior to the 22nd. I have restored an old backup for you, but you won’t have any recent changes/progress. If you wish to keep it, please choose download on the next sync.
I’m perfectly content with the progress I was in in this backup but I get so many of these ‘’ Impossible to charge ankidroid audioec with some mumbers next to it ‘’
all my work is in the form of audios but 80 percent of them are missing so I wonder if there is any type of help you could provide I only wish to recover the deck named R and the biologie one but they both have so many media missing
also on a side note I don’t know where is the download i should choose I have not found it I just synced for half an hour or so until the process was complete
I’m not sure what you mean. Do you have an image you can show?
I think media isn’t backed up by Anki’s servers.
Sorry about the confusion. “Download” is what the iOS app shows. You’re not going to find “Download” option in AnkiDroid. Here, you are supposed to choose “AnkiWeb” when you’re asked to choose a collection to keep. What option did you choose?
