Original strings is the same as translated string on Pontoon

There is a bug on pontoon website. After I have translated the string the original English string is replaced by my translation. If I want to revisit the translation I cannot view the original English string.

I’ve never seen that happen in Pontoon – and even this string shows up correctly for me. Pontoon

  • Have you tried refreshing the tab, or clearing the cache and cookies for that site?
  • What browser are you using?

I found the source of the problem. In my Pontoon settings I set “preferred source locale” to the language I’m translating to.

Yes, for the source you want to make sure you have the original strings. You should leave that set to “default project locale.”
