I would like to search for my cards more easily, however opening a browse in the deck doesn’t fill the search bar, unlike clicking on the deck icon on the side bar.

  1. Open a deck
  2. Open Browse inside the deck (shortcut: B)
  3. The browse fills the search bar with the deck:deckname*

Opening the Browse in the deck should behave exactly like clicking the deck icon** in the browser

If I understand what you’re saying – even though Browse opens with as the current deck as the active search – that doesn’t help you because the search box is empty. So you can’t start to modify the search without an additional step.

Workaround –
Preferences > Editing > Default search text
deck:current
