Once a leech, always a leech

hello,

after I guessed a card right on an interval longer than 3 months, I think this card finally starts to get into my memory. because of a difficult past, some of these cards are leeches
and in order to keep my long list of leeches up-to-date and accurate, I would like to remove the leech tag from these specific cards.

how do I find these cards and remove the leech tag on them ?

thank you !

anki browser, select cards with holding shift, control click on them, notes, remove tags

If you have single-card notes – it’s pretty straightforward. Search for tag:leech prop:ivl>=90 [cards with 90d+ intervals whose notes are leech-tagged] – select all – Notes > Remove Tags .

If you have sibling cards and you want to be careful about it, the above search may be only finding the not-a-problem sibling card, and you wouldn’t want to remove the tag from the note on the basis of that card having a long interval.

First, search for tag:leech prop:lapses>=8 [cards with 8+ lapses whose notes are leech-tagged] – see how many cards you get – switch to Notes mode and see that it’s the same number of notes. This confirms that there’s only one sibling on each note that you need to consider. (If it’s fewer notes, then you might want to do more to make sure you’re not jumping the gun on siblings.)

Then, search for tag:leech prop:lapses>=8 prop:ivl>=90 [cards with 8+ lapses and 90d+ intervals whose notes are leech-tagged] – select all – Notes > Remove Tags .
