I just got a deck from a fellow student and when I use the deck and push the space bar it will show me the answer but will not show the additional info unless I click the button with my mouse. Is there any way to fix this? Last semester when I used their deck this was never a problem and now all the sudden it wont work. I have updated my anki and it doesnt matter what version I use the old or the new it still doesnt work. Also is there any way to make the timer go away??

The card template itself contains this functionality, so the deck needs to be adjusted to your needs, not some Anki preference. You can upload screenshots of your card template here, maybe we can help with reformatting.
Change false to true.
I did that an the additional info still wont pop up when pushing the space bar. Here is another screen shot.

Did you click Save?
You also might consider reading the comments in your template, because they appear to tell you exactly how to change the shortcut.
