"No reviews found." on FSRS-5

Hello!

I’ve read through all similar threads on this topic to no avail. It seems as though when I try to Optimize Current Preset on my deck (AnKing Step deck), no reviews are found. I have made sure to apply this preset to all subdecks, and it seems like Anki is recognizing my reviews in the “Stats” page, so I am unsure what could be going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It looks like you’ve successfully optimized in the past. Have you suspended your active Review cards since then? Moved them to another deck/subdeck? Deleted the notes?

Search the decks using this preset with -is:new -is:suspended preset:AnKing – do any cards come back?

No cards come back when I search this in the “Browse” menu, if that is what you are referring to.

Whenever I’ve done this, I always had to do “Optimize All Presets”… it’s never worked for me when I try to optimize just the current preset.

Both of those are strong signs that your preset isn’t assigned to the decks/subdecks you think it is, or that you don’t have the cards you think you do in those decks.

Maybe try this – go find the some of the cards (or decks/subdecks) that you think this preset should be using to optimize – and look at the Card Info for a card. What does that show for the preset?

For the preset, they are all assigned to “AnKing”, as shown below.

I took at look at your collection synced to AnkiWeb, and you actually have 2 presets with nearly the same name –

Those qualify as unique, but I think the search might be stopping at the preset of anking and not seeing the preset of AnKing. Try these things –

  1. Rename one of those presets (or delete the other one, since it isn’t being used).
  2. Blank out what’s currently in the “FSRS parameters” field, and the preset-filter field below that.
  3. Save.
  4. Reopen the Options and click “Optimize Current Preset”.

From my testing on AnkiDroid, searching for cards by preset will only return the cards belonging to one of the presets, if there are versions differing only by capitalization.

In the case if OP, cards of the unused preset are being returned, i.e. no cards at all.

This is a bug.

Then it seems like the bug would be allowing preset names that differ only by capitalization. It seems like that shouldn’t be accepted if the search is case-insensitive.

Awesome – the problem was indeed that I had both “AnKing” and “anking” as presets. I am not sure why I had the latter, but deleting it and re-running FSRS made it work properly. Thanks!
