I hope you are well. I have searched and searched the web, but can’t seem to find a solution to my problem.
I have many sub-decks all under a single main deck. I switched to the V3 scheduler , and am getting weird intervals. For some new cards, both the “hard” and “good options” are now 1d, and the “easy option” is 4 days. For other new cards, the intervals for hard, good and easy may be 12.2h, 1 day, and 6 days. This is for cards from one single sub-deck, so this shouldn’t be happening, right?
I had no problems like this with the V2 scheduler, but would prefer to use the newer scheduler. I have checked, and the settings for both my main deck and the sub-deck seem to be the same, besides that the amount of new cards for the sub-deck being set to be less than the amount of new cards for the entire main deck.
Attached are pictures to explain what I mean better.
…the fact that fuzz factor is reflected on the buttons in V3 (but not in V2) can explain why in some cases Easy interval for new cards is 4 and while in other cases can be 6 (or 3, or 5).
“Good” shows now 1d instead of 10h, because the card has crossed my next dat boundary. The “Hard” button, however, shows the right value (the average of Again and Good)
Both “Hard” and “Good” crosses the “next day” boundary, that’s why both buttons show “1d”
Does that make sense?
Edit: Yes, I think the above explanation is right:
Anki treats small steps and steps that cross a day boundary differently. With small steps, the cards are shown as soon as the delay has passed, in preference to other waiting cards like reviews. This is done so that you can answer the card as closely to your requested delay as possible. In contrast, cards that cross a day boundary are scheduled on a per-day basis like reviews are.
