I was wondering if there is a way to navigate between the cards fast, like that on Ankidroid.
I can go to the first and last cards of the deck with ease, but navigating is hard especially when you have above 100,200 cards in the deck.
Is the feature already there or is it among one of the feature coming in the future?
I think Anki Desktop is also missing this.
In Anki desktop, atleast the cards you are currently viewing in the preview mode aligns with the browser, which is in the different anki window, so that you wouldnât get lost among the sea of cards.
A small fast navigation bar on the bottom like Ankidroid would make a world of difference, in the browsing/filtering mode experience.
Have you considered narrowing your search to the cards you actually want to see before opening Preview? The first/last/next/previous navigation might be less burdensome if you only have the relevant cards in front of you.
AnkiDroid offers a different approach with the slider, but if you use that with 100K+ cards in view, itâs not going to help you much unless you know what number that card is in your search results (which is seems like you rarely will).
Sorry I meant to say 100-200cards, Itâs one of those, when you are short on time, and want to skim through notes quickly, I found it bit tedious to get to the previous point I left off.
I make my notes on Anki, and it is important for me to do go through it chronologically.
I am yet to fully get used to the organizational capabilities Anki has to offer. I donât have tags or flags on my notes.
Just wanted to fully revise the deck chronologically.
I just hope there is a slider like that on Ankidroid, to navigate the notes really fast.
A little correction, tags are applied on notes and flags are applied on cards.
Iâm on agreement with you that itâs a helpful feature. Especially as you can set the display order yourself. So, in my case, I set the display order to âby creation timeâ which means everything is in the order I created them (almost the order by which topics are arranged in my textbooks). So, itâs quite easy to navigate around the cards as I know what comes after/before what. Itâs probably as easy as navigating my paper textbooks.
If you just wanted to suggest something, a better category you can change to is AnkiMobile (iPhone/iPad) > Suggestions. I did that for you, revert it if you wish.
Yes, I set the display order by creation time, cards chronological order is not an issue for me.
I just want to jump really fast, like it becomes tedious to go tap the ânextâ button for lets say 70times if you want to get to that point.
I can navigate directly to the 70th card from the browser with no issue, but the preview mode is limited to only that particular card, you canât go next.
I hope the developers consider adding slider like that in Ankidroid.
