More cards to review, sessions too short

I’m a newcomer to Anki, I’ve not changed any settings, left it as default, and have made the first 30 or so cards for the language I’m trying to learn. The first session went fine, I spent around 1.5 hours battling with a small percentage of the cards that I kept forgetting, eventually, I made some progress, then the session came to an end, I’d completed the deck for the day.
Today I came to practice, went over a few of the cards from yesterday, which I basically had to relearn, looked at a few news ones, then I’d complete the deck. I know for a fact that there are a lot of cards that I’ve not yet learned. Do I trust the default settings, as I feel like I should be practicing these cards for more than 20 minutes on my second day.
I’ve seen there are setting for new cards, review options, but I don’t fully understand what I need to change to have the system show me more cards before the deck is complete, can anyone help me with how to prolong these learning sessions ?

Many Thanks

Paul

This should help you understand why you’re not seeing the cards every day. Anki's not showing me all my cards! - Anki FAQs

Anki is designed to keep information in mind, not to cramm.

Spaced Repetition
How To Remember Anything Forever-ish*

There is a special function for cramming.

Filtered Decks & Cramming

You can switch to the new anki algorithm, which will try to adjust to your memory. The new algorithm also has a setting with which you can increase or decrease all intervals.

Desired Retention

When you just started you could increase the number of new cards that are introduced every day. But be careful: Reviews pile up quickly with more new cards per day.

Thank you so much for your replies, I’ll stick with it and see how it goes with the standard settings
