MathJax implementation bug - parenthesis and brackets

The Anki Math and Symbols page states: Anki uses \( and \) for inline equations, and \[ and \] for display equations.

These MathJax codes do not work.

Mac Ventura 13.3
Anki Version ⁨2.1.63 (f356f177)⁩

They work for me - if I type \(x^2\) into a field and move to another field, it’s rendered as MathJax. If that doesn’t work for you, please follow the steps on When problems occur - Frequently Asked Questions

Thanks, Dan,

I followed the instructions on the FAQ before I posted.

Here is my result with your example:

Those symbols are required when typing directly into a field. If you’ve already opened the MathJax editor, you don’t need to include them.

Thanks Damien,

This is the form that works:

\left(x^2\right)
