macOS Bug - Review Bar flashes white in transition to Congrats screen

Hello,

I’m facing a bug on macOS where when I finish the last card in a deck and grade it, a slim portion above the bottom bar (the one with the grade buttons etc) flashes white when transitioning to the Congrats screen. This is obviously very jarring and annoying. I’ve tried everything I can to diagnose/fix it such as changing the video driver multiple times from the default (Metal) to both Software and OpenGL but nothing has fixed it. It’s also extremely random but I’d say it happens more often than it doesn’t. No clue what’s causing it or what I can do from here.

I’ve attached a screen recording of the issue as a Google Drive link (wasn’t able to natively upload the video here because I didn’t know Anki Web and Anki Forums operated on isolated accounts so it says “new users cannot add attachments”). What I did for demonstration was make a new deck and added a filler card with Lorem Ipsum text, then made a filtered deck that always shows that one card from that deck so I can complete the deck and rebuild it as many times as I want to reproduce the issue. It happens ~3 times in this recording, doesn’t happen at all once (which is the ideal expected behaviour) and even flashes black ones towards the end of the video.

Other notes: in the video I’m on the latest available version of Anki at this time and my video driver is set to Metal (the default).

Is anyone else having this issue? Is there any definitive way to fix it or does it require an update that fixes it? If any developer sees this I’m happy to provide any more details as necessary.

Thank you.

Can confirm, I see this too. I use debian linux, though. Also, for me this isn’t intermittent; it happens in 100% of the time.

It flashes white in dark mode and black in light mode.

There’s probably no workaround.

Awesome thank you
