I want to preface this with: I am absolutely terrible at technology. I have been using my old laptop to do Anki for all of November (for the MCAT). I had caught up and done thousands of cards, but I ended up giving that Laptop to my mom and she reset all of my data (and it can’t be recovered). I do not have that data synced on any of my laptop or ipad, and I cannot find a backup with that data. Now I am left with a deck that says I have 1700 new cards and feeling distraught and overwhelmed. I have tried the recommendations given to me by similar posts. Are there any admins that can manually check my account and see if my data is there somewhere?
Did you sync that old Anki laptop with the same AnkiWeb account that you are syncing your current devices with? If so, those other devices should have the same collection that was on your old laptop.
I do not recall if I ever synced the old laptop, but all devices were on the same AnkiWeb account. The thing is on my new devices I accidentally clicked ‘upload to AnkiWeb’ instead of ‘Download from AnkiWeb’ and this brand new device never had any of the backups from the old device. Appreciate the response.
There are 2 server-side backups associated with your account. The most recent is from 17 Dec, so that would be better, as long as its before you mis-synced your new devices. The earlier one from 21 Oct. Confirm for me which of those you want restored.
