I want the new learning cards to appear after I finish all my reviews, but they’re still getting mixed even after using these options, these are how my settings of the deck look right now:
Here’s an example of what happens, I have 4 failed reviews and the next card that shows up is a completely new one I haven’t learnt yet. I would like all the new cards to appear after I finish the reviews from the cards I already know
This isn’t an error. What you’re seeing is expected behavior.
Those Display Order options control the first time a card is shown during this study session, but your learning/relearning steps control the next time it is shown. Your lapsed Relearn cards will show up after their step delay, or at the end of your session (subject to the learn-ahead limit), if you run out of other cards to study.
If you want none of your New cards to be introduced until after you’ve graduated every Relearn card back to Review, you need to separate them into their own study session. One way to do that is to set your daily New card limit to 0, so that no New cards will be introduced during your regular study session. Then each day, after you’ve finished studying, you can set a “Today only” limit of New cards, and study those.
I can think of other ways that wouldn’t require a daily limit change, but they require a little more configuration up front (like subdecks or Filtered decks), and all of them would require a split study session.
