My daughter’s laptop just stopped working and we are trying to restore the anki cards. We only have an IP address no sync to an email. Can the cards be retrieved?
Hi, this is sad news. When you have not used AnkiWeb and there is no other device with this data, there are only Anki-unrelated options left: getting the laptop repaired, looking if the data exists on external backups (external drives, online services that were used for system backups) or trying to restore the data from the broken device by a data restore/repair service.
If you’re able to salvage things from the hard drive, make sure you get the Anki2 folder – that’s where all of her collection data is stored. Managing Files - Anki Manual
