I have a surface pro 7 and my anki has recently become really slow. I will do about 30 cards and then each time i press any button (again/1 day/decks - literally anything) it will take a few seconds to function. In addition, the lagging progresses. So its only a bit slow for 30 cards but if I keep going it will be extremelyyyyy slower. If I exit the app and reopen it it will go back to a normal pace, but then I will go through 30 cards and it starts again so Ive just been exiting and reentering the app a lot during the day. I checked I have the anki version - Version 2.1.35 (84dcaa86). I also checked the database and this hasnât changed anything. My whole collection is 20733 cards and I really donât use add ons, I try to keep it as simple as I can lol. Also, it is only my anki deck that is super slow - nothing else on my computer lags. I am desperate for any advice at this point as this has wasted a lot of studying time!
If you donât use add-ons I would start by updating the program.
