Has anyone here found a way to do sentence mining using the subtitles from a Blu-Ray disc?
My first Idea would be to export the subtitles as a file and then try to get this file into Yomitan, but i would really like to be able to just create the flashcards on the go while watching and have screenshots in my flashcards.
Use some sorta extractor to extract the subs from your file format.
Use handbreak to take your blue ray disc and convert the movie into a file format that is compatible with your current browser to load local video files from.
Then use the asbplayer website with your local video and extracted subs to sentence mine and update and mine cards with audio and a screenshot. You will also need AnkiConnect to connect to asbplayer and optionally some popup dictionary like Yomitan if you don’t feel like using asbplayer’s mining setup (you’ll have to update the last mined card through asbplayer).
For making screenshots in bulk (and also editing any images in the collection), I made an extension that does this based on video and subtitle files:
It can also be used on preexisting cards, if, for example, you would like to add context to the words from a frequency list that are present in a selected video.
