Issues with Anki

Hi everyone,

I’m having a frustrating problem with Anki Desktop on my Mac. Whenever I create cards, every action takes several seconds to complete. Clicking “Add”, saving a card, or finishing a deck all make Anki hang and load for several seconds each time. It used to be instant, with every click completing right away.

My collection has around [6,000] cards.

Things I have already tried, without success:

•    Updated to the latest version of Anki

•    Changed the video driver setting

•    Completely uninstalled and reinstalled Anki

•    Removed all add-ons

•    Deleted unused media and images

•    Deleted empty cards

•    Ran Tools > Check Database

Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this or what else I could try?

Did you follow the directions in the Troubleshooting Checklist for doing that? And did you try all available options?

While you’re there, go through the rest of that list, and try everything else, even the things that don’t seem relevant.

If you don’t see any improvement, see the suggestions in 26.09 Performance Issues .
