Hey I was wondering if anyone would be able help me with this isssue I have been having.
So I have been trying to set up this Japanese support add-on my Anki. However, I cannot get Anki to restart. I have tried restarting and shutting down my computer, but that hasn’t worked. I have also tried the shortcut of restarting Anki by pressing Crtl shift R, but that also did nothing. I tried holding down shift and disabling the add-on, and then re-installing it, but I don’t think that did anything either.
I have the latest version Anki so I have no idea why this Is happening. Honestly, I am at my wits end with this and getting so frustrated. So, any help or guidance is appreciated. Thank you.

Are you saying that Anki won’t start anymore after installing the add-on?
Otherwise, all that goes into “restarting” Anki is to close it and reopen it. So if you’ve restarted your computer, that has definitely done it. After restarting, what isn’t working the way you think it should?

My Anki appears to be working fine, I think. However, the issue is that when I close down Anki or restart my computer, the addon is still available in the addons section when it should have already been added.
Also, the Japanese support add-on isn’t on the menu bar in the tools section.
I have tried to upload some photos to show you what I mean. sorry, I am not very good at explaining.
When you go to Tools > Add-ons – everything you see there is installed. So it’s there – you’ve added it.
Since you don’t have any other add-ons, I can tell that “Lookup” and “Kanji Stats” are the menu items associated with this add-on. If you look at the add-on page that I linked to, you’ll find the instructions for how to use the different features of this add-on. That should help you find your way.
