Is there anyway to use PDF reader to create flashcards

I’m not talking about those apps that can create flashcard from whatever text you feed them using AI. I mean if let’s say I am reading a pdf file, and I happen to come across a text that I’d like to memorize using spaced repetition, so I’ll just highlight it and then contniue reading. When it’s the time for me to memorzie, it should take me to the page and have the highlighted text hidden so I can try and recall it. And then of course, reviweing it depending on how well i remember.
So sort of like cloze, but I want to save time by not having to copy-paste the text on the editor field and then create the cards.

Any add-on that can support this or infact any PDF reader that has the ability to create flash cards like this?

I don’t know of anything that does this. But some PDF readers (PDF Expert on iOS) can export your annotations from the PDF as plain text making the card creation process slightly easier.

I have a good suggestion but it doesn’t (from my knowledge) auto-create cards in the way you’re looking for. Nonetheless, it does have a solid auto copy-paste to make cards very easily.
Add on name: “Searching, PDF Reading & Note-Taking in Add Dialog - (Qt6 port)”
