Insane lag on Mac Qt5 even after trying downgrading to older versions, safe start etc

MacOS Catalina version 10.15.3

As the title says I’ve tried every method I could find, including reinstalling, downgrading to various older versions, disabling add-ons. The desktop app is nearly unusable with how low the FPS is at the moment. Not sure if this is a graphics issue with my own laptop but I haven’t had issues with any other program and it’s still relatively young. Any help is much appreciated :')

Can you run Anki from a terminal window in macOS?

If so, are there any error messages or warning messages being output to the terminal?

Did you try all of the steps on Troubleshooting - Anki Manual, such as restarting your machine?
