Hi,
After I upload my execl doc that i converted into a CSV file, they are not showing up in my deck. After a couple different tries, it only uploaded 20 of my 39 cards. Any help would be appreciated!

The post-import report will tell you how many notes (not cards) were imported, how many weren’t, and why. Hover over each line in the “Details” section to find out the reason.
Depending on your unique identifier, your card may have been imported or may have updated an existing note/card, or may have been skipped. You should see this information in the results of the import action as mentioned above by @Danika_Dakika . If you missed seeing that or if you closed that window too quickly, then follow the steps above.
When you first start importing cards, it can feel a little scary. But the process does follow the rules as documented, and you will soon become accustomed to the process and feel in control of it.
You may well find that the unique identifier is the key to your problem. That is why some of us use the Add Note ID add-on. I no longer use that add-on, but I do create a Note ID field as the first field in every row (Note) I create, and I ensure that it contains a unique ID, which is unique within all the decks I have created. This works well for me, where I have tons of decks and thousands of cards.
Both halves of your problem are probably one thing. Anki decides whether a row is new by looking at the first field: if that value already exists on a note of the same type, the import updates that note instead of adding a new one. And the updated note doesn’t move. The manual says they’re updated “in their current decks rather than being moved to the deck you have set in the import dialog”. So 19 of your rows may have quietly landed on notes you already had, sitting in some other deck. That’s both the missing 19 and the “not showing up in my deck”.
The Details section Danika pointed you at will say so. If that’s what happened, the fix is the drop-down on the import screen: change it from updating to “Import as new notes”, or “Ignore duplicates” if you’d rather skip them.
One more thing, since the file came from Excel. If any of your cells has a line break inside it, check how Excel wrote it. A field with a line break has to sit inside double quotes, otherwise Anki reads that one card as two broken rows.
