Hi I tried importing a deck but it gives me an error called Error 500: Field Name: #. The notes in the deck had a field name called # so I deleted the field yet I still got the error trying to import the deck. I am also on the latest version of Anki for both devices. Any help would be appreciated.
Is this an APKG file or a text/CSV file? Where did it come from?
It is an APKG file. I made it in Anki and then emailed it to my other device.
The usual way to move decks from one device to another is to sync your collection via AnkiWeb. Is there a reason you don’t want to do that? Syncing with AnkiWeb - Anki Manual
- After you deleted that field in Anki, did you create a new APKG export?
- Does the note type with the problem field already exist in your other device’s collection?
- Are these 2 devices using the same or both relatively recent versions of Anki?
After I deleted the field, I created a new AKPG export. Both devices are using the same version. The note type does not exist in the new device (it’s a different account).
Is the deck synced to AnkiWeb? Can you tell me which deck it is so I can take a look at your collection?
Never mind, I have found the bug there was another note type in the deck with the name # in one of the fields. For people who are interested, you cannot have the # symbol in any field names just change it to something else (I changed it to number). Anyways, thanks for your help! You guys are doing Gods work!
