I cant upload my first addon. My account is not new!

Hello, first add-on upload fails with HTTP 400, Response body exactly: “bad request”
(endpoint: POST https://ankiweb.net/svc/shared/upload-addon)

Account: 5+ years, sync daily, I have shared many decks successfully (sharing is enabled).
Tried: multiple browsers, VPN on/off, clear cache/cookies, reselect file, minimal description.
Package is a clean root-level .ankiaddon (no pycache, no wrapping folder).

Add-on / file:

AnkiWeb email is the same one I sync with in Anki.
Please check whether add-on upload is blocked separately from deck sharing on this account, or if this is a server/UI bug.

It’s not. I have found the AnkiWeb account that uses the email address you used to post here. It has other shared items (decks), and no restrictions.

Is that the account you’re logged in with in that browser when you’re trying to publish the add-on?

It is strange. I have only one account. I tried all common troubleshooting at this point.

  • Direct connection (Remote Address 142.132.136.176:443, not localhost)
  • Desktop macOS (Sec-Ch-Ua-Mobile: ?0)
  • Same account that owns my shared decks (has_auth=1)
  • Request Payload is non-empty binary protobuf (~25KB)
  • Response body: Bad Request

So this is not an empty upload or account restriction. I have no other ideas to try. I even tried on incognito window.

I found the solution!
It was related to version number.
