How to not play the audio of metadata on a card?

Hi, I’m getting into Anki for language learning and I love its flexibility and useability, so thanks devs and all who have made Anki better.

The question I have is about the cards themselves. I want to add some metadata to the translated word (on the back of the card), such as the gender, e.g·

  • Front: kitten
  • Back: кошеня (с)

…where с = середній but I do not want it to be announced in the audio replay.

Is there any markup that can be used to silence part of the text on a card?

You should put the metadata in a separate field, then you can display both fields on the same line to make it look like it’s in a single field.
