I’m stuck with an annoying issue and can’t find a clean fix:
Both sides of my card have audio attached (.mp3). When I switch the note type from Basic to Basic (type in the answer), the front audio always plays again when showing the back side.
I still want the front text visible on the back, but only want to hear the back audio, not the front one again.
I already added {{Back}} in the template to hear the back audio, but it still plays the audio from the front (again)..
Basically, I want what’s shown in the screenshot: front text visible, front audio silent, only back audio playing:
Create a new {{Audio}} field and attach the audio there. This will make managing card templates more flexible.

Perhaps you meant that you have audio in certain fields of the note?
Thank you very much, Gemini actually just gave me the same suggestion. However, humans are still in control and faster! I appreciate it. I haven’t worked with fields before, but I just tried it, and it worked. It seems that HyperTTS can also directly write the audio files to the newly created/selected field. Awesome!
Putting your audio into a separate field is definitely the best plan. It will help you more overall and in the long run.
Using {{FrontSide}} is another option that will do what you want – Field Replacements - Anki Manual – since it does not play any audio from the front template. It needs to replace everything on the front template that you’re repeating on the back template, or you’ll get a multiple-typing-boxes error – Field Replacements - Anki Manual .
The key now was using {{text:Front}} on the back template, that way I only see the front text without triggering the whole front card including any audio.
I separated the audio into two dedicated fields: AudioFront and AudioBack.
Now it works perfectly, and I can switch between Basic and Type in the answer note types without issues.
