How can I change my old type of cards to new ones?
At the beginning I had two type of cards but later I decided to create two new types with better structure. I didn’t want to delete the old ones because it would remove many flashcards from my decks.
Now I would like to create two new card types and I don’t know how to create to fix the old ones?
Because now I will have 4 card types. I see there are some options like Reposition or Deck Override how can I use these options?
Can someone explain how to proceed with these changes and not to loose the old cards?
Thanks, I didn’t know about it. I’ll check it.
I have one more question. Is it possible to suspend a card type? To not create new cards for this type and create only for other card types?
Not directly. If you don’t want to delete the card template, but do want to keep it around, you could use use the deck override option to have it place cards in a separate deck instead.
I did it in this way and now I have many note types I couldn’t remove old card types because I would delete many flashcards. And now I have mess in my flashcards
It’s shame that there is no option to convert one Note Type to another Note Type.
Or maybe there is an option to do it?
Hi, I am trying to change the note type of an already existing note, but it doesn’t show me that I can edit them. There are only these options: change deck, change flag, reset card and delete note. Could u advise me, please?
It sounds like you may be asking about AnkiMobile? A change notetype feature is coming in the next update. In the mean time, you should be able to do it using the computer version of Anki.
Thank you for your reply. I have been trying it on my iPad, iPhone and finally Mac, but I cannot find any way how to change the note type. The computer version does not have the “Browse” option, at least I cannot see it. When I click on the deck and then click on “edit”, I can only edit the contents of the card but not the card itself…
Does anyone here know if you can change the note type for more than one card at a time? I have a deck with 800 notes that I want to change and doing it one by one will take a long time.
