I’ve been using Anki on my computer with an institutional email from my university, which is currently linked to my AnkiWeb account. Now that I’ve graduated, I’m concerned that I might lose access to my institutional email soon — and with that, potentially lose access to my Anki account, my cards, and all of my progress.
I’d like to switch my AnkiWeb account from my institutional email to a personal email to ensure I don’t lose anything.
Could someone please guide me on how to safely change the email address associated with my AnkiWeb account without losing any data or sync history?
I recently changed my email address on the Anki website and also in AnkiDroid on my tablet without any issues.
However, I can’t make this change in the Anki Desktop app on my computer.
Because of this, synchronization doesn’t work:
On my computer, Anki is still linked to my old university email (which I will lose soon, as I have graduated).
On my tablet and phone, AnkiDroid is already using my personal email.
As a result, the cards I create and review on Anki Desktop do not sync with AnkiDroid on my tablet and phone.
How can I change the email address in Anki Desktop to my personal email so I can sync all my devices?
