How can I review only my “review” cards without being forced to relearn the ones I forget?

I’m trying to review only my review cards (the once i previously learned and now want to repeat). i currently have 165 cards that i want to quickly check:

  • if i still know them: i press easy and they disappear for now
  • if i don’t know them: i want to deal with them later today, after i checked all of my review cards, not immediately

problem: when i don’t know a card (and press again), anki puts it back into learning, and then it keeps showing up again and again (which is logical, i know). i want to seperate the ones i know from the ones i don’t, and study the forgotten ones later.

i tried messing with the time it takes for a card to show up again if you press ‘again’, i changed it to about 5 hours, but it messed with my whole system and suddenly if i pressed good i had to wait a year for it to come back? i think i fixed if now but wth

this is what it currently looks like

as you can see, the 160 cards are the ones i have to repeat, but they keep interupting my flow as im trying to split the review cards into the piles i was talking about.

is there a way to show only review cards, not immediately repeat forgotten cards, and review the ‘failed’ ones later when i’m ready?

btw: my settings are set do default again (or the ‘lapses’ and ‘new cards’ settings are set to default

Why doesn’t the standard method suit you?

You’re only being “forced” to relearn those cards because you told Anki you wanted to be. The easiest way to change that would be to set a longer relearning step.

It sounds like you already tried that, but that shouldn’t have any effect on your post-Learn/Relearn intervals like what you saw.

yes, i didn’t really use the ‘bury’ tool earlier, but figured it out after posting this. i will use that method, thank you.
