Hello, I would like to talk about how Anki handles video/audio playback.
As you know, Anki is mainly used for language learning, right? And we also know that when learning a language, one of the most effective methods is repetition—not only spaced repetition, but especially listening repetition. I’m trying to learn English using the TV show Friends, and I noticed something important.
When I open a card, the video/audio plays automatically, but it only plays once. I have to keep tapping the card over and over again just to listen to it multiple times. This becomes tiring because there are many decks to study, and having to constantly press play affects concentration.
I would like to request a feature that allows the audio/video to automatically repeat 5 times in a row. If you could implement this, it would be amazing. Just imagine—opening the card and not having to worry about tapping anything, because everything plays automatically. It would make the study process smoother, without distractions or frustration.
Please let me know if this is something you can do. I’m asking because this is really affecting my learning experience. I even used another app in the past that had this feature, and it worked great, but I can’t find it anymore. Then I discovered Anki, but it doesn’t include this function. If you add it, I believe a lot of users would love it.

Ao abrir uma carta o video/audio reproduz automaticamente,mas reproduz só uma vez.Tem que ficar tocando varias e varias veses na mesma carta alí para poder escutar;e isso se torna cansativo pois são varias baralhos para estudar e ficar tocando assim até atrapalha na concentração.
Gostaria de pedir que colocasse a função de repetir o audio/video automaticamente 5 veses seguida.Se fizer isso seria maravilhoso.Tipo.. só de imagimar… ao abrir alí a carta e nem precisar se preocupar em tocar em nada a todo momento,que tudo vai ser feito automaticamente já facilita,não vai ter distração disgaste.
Porfavor me responda se você vai fazer isso.Tô dindo por que isso tá me atrapalhando muito.Até usava um app antigamente que funcionava assim, era muito bom,mas não achei maus para baixar.Aí descobri o anki mas não tem essa função.Se fizer isso acredito que muita gente vai adorar.

From the main menu tap on the 3 dots and then manage note types, then look for your note type and tap edit cards. Paste the following in the front and/or back templates:
ChatGPT is frequently wrong about things in Anki, so I’m pretty sure no one here is interested in debating with whatever it said. The place you should be looking to learn how to do this is the manual – Field Replacements - Anki Manual .
Even if there is eventually a setting implemented like what you’re asking for, it’s certainly not going to be in the next few days – Fixing this on your card templates yourself is the best plan.
If you have mp3 audio files attached to your notes – and you use the name of the actual field where you have that audio – this will work on any version of Anki. The first field replacement will show the contents of the field – as a button – the other 4 will simply play the audio again.
It’s hard to tell you any more about where you went wrong because we know nothing about your note type, or what you changed in your card templates. You’re going to need to give us more details if you want more help.

You’re saying that you did it as instructed, and it didn’t work. Okay, that’s fine. But there’s nothing more anyone can do to help you without being able to see why it didn’t work. You can say it’s a bug, if that makes you happy – but since it’s only not working for you, it seems less likely that it’s a bug in the app.
The folks who have responded to your posts here – and on GitHub – and in the earlier Forum thread that you’ve already been given a link to (and hopefully have read) – include contributors and helpful members of the Anki community. This feature that you requested yesterday won’t be implemented any time soon – and the timeline is even longer (or possibly never) for something that you can already do quite easily with a change to your card template.
I’m sure the AnkiDroid project would appreciate your financial support – How can I donate? - Anki FAQs . As far as I know, that all-volunteer team has enough on their collective plate that they don’t operate on a feature-for-bounty model. Regardless, functionality like this would likely need to be implemented in desktop Anki first.
