I think that the browser is a bit clunky when it comes to editing a card.

So my proposal is the following instead:

Edit: I was actually a bit silly here. Because this exact window already exists when you edit a card during revisions. Thus I did the mockup for nothing. But the proposal stands.

Opening the browser allows you to do non-textual things like moving the card to a different deck or deleting it as well.
