Hi,
Like many of us, I have many decks. I have attached some of them as a picture.
Can’t you make it so in the options that completed decks are automatically hidden?
This would simplify the overview and create a better feeling

Can you explain more about what would qualify a deck to be “hidden” under this idea? Nearly every deck in your screenshot has cards due, so it is not clear what is standing out to you, or what meets your definition of “completed.” Can you also explain how current tools – like nesting, collapsing – wouldn’t satisfy your need?
Hiding decks was discussed here for Anki Hide/unhide Decks Poll
This is a valid use case for Zoom in deck overview to view more decks without the need of scrolling: Zoom option in decks overview · Issue #14927 · ankidroid/Anki-Android · GitHub
Thanks for the questions! Here’s what I’m thinking:
I didn’t get a notification, so I didn’t reply for a while.
For me, “completed” doesn’t necessarily mean 100% done forever — it’s more about decks that I don’t want to deal with right now.
I have some decks that I use regularly (e.g. for my kids), but also many others that are important only seasonally or occasionally. I don’t want to delete or suspend them — I just don’t want to see them in the deck list every day.
What’s frustrating is seeing numbers of due cards from decks I’m not actively using. Even if it’s just 5 or 6 reviews, it creates pressure or guilt, and makes it feel like my work isn’t really “done” for the day. It’s purely psychological — but very real.
Of course, I could use nested decks and collapse them, but that’s only a visual workaround. What I’d really love is an option to hide a deck completely, even if it still has due cards — manually, without affecting the scheduling.
Maybe something like:
☐ Hide this deck temporarily
(and then have a toggle like “Show hidden decks” somewhere in settings)
That way, people could use Anki more flexibly — especially those of us with many decks but only a few active ones at a time.
(Just to note: I also posted a short reply in the older “Hide/unhide decks” thread to link the discussions.)
