HELP with filtered decks

Hello everyone;

Excuse my English; I am Spanish. I have tried to solve this question on my own, but the truth, not having advanced computer knowledge, I can’t understand it and I’m wasting a lot of time:

Is it possible to create filtered decks that share some topics? If, for example, I have two exams, and in one I get the subjects 1, 2 and 3; and in the other, 1, 4 and 5. Would it be possible to create it?

Is it necessary to use the ““tags”” to create filtered decks, or can they be elaborated from sub-decks?

I hope someone can help me; thanks in advance.

I do not think you can have cards in 2 filtered decks at the same time.

As for creating filtered decks, yes you can use sub-decks. For example, if decks 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are sub-decks in a deck called Main:

Tools → Create Filtered Deck…
In Search, you can specify your desired decks using typical search syntax.

For example

"deck:Main::1" or "deck:Main::2" or "deck:Main::3"

Thank you very much"Wheat" for your answer, but I don’t understand this last point: if you had to study two different exams, with some overlapping subjects (sub-decks), how would you create two different decks for each exam?

I don’t think it’s possible to have a card in two different decks at the same time.
