Weird issue. When I’m reviewing, sometimes the next card will simply not show. Like I’ll tap the keyboard shortcut to grade the current card, but the next one doesn’t show up. If there’s audio, it’ll play, but it’s still showing me the previous card. If I wait maybe five seconds, it’ll finally update, but I can usually speed the process along by moving the mouse to the top of the screen to reveal the menubar (macOS) or if I take Anki out of full screen back to windowed.
It happens way more frequently in full screen, but it can happen in windowed mode too. But either way, usually the quickest solution seems to be to move the mouse up to either the top bar of Anki (the bar with window control buttons) or to the menubar when in full screen, or just switch it from full screen to windowed or vice versa.
Any help or advice? It’s not a huge deal, but it’s annoying when I’m in the flow and suddenly the next card just won’t show.
I’m using Anki v24.04.1, macOS 14.5, and two add-ons: Anki Connect and Speed Focus Mode (though this problem existed before installing either add-on).
