After updating to FSRS version 5 in Anki 24.11, I’ve noticed a significant decrease in the average difficulty of my cards—from 56% to 26%. Approximately 4,000 out of my 6,000 unsuspended cards now show a difficulty of 0%.
When I use the Statistics tab to filter these 4,000 cards with 0% difficulty, the browser displays them correctly. However, upon selecting an individual card and opening the Info panel, there’s a discrepancy: the browser indicates 0% difficulty, but the Info panel shows a different value (e.g., 41%).
This inconsistency between the browser and the Info panel is concerning. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a known solution or explanation for this behavior?
41% is the difficulty that FSRS calculated when you reviewed the card. Now, you have re-optimised your parameters and based on these new parameters, FSRS has calculated a difficulty of 0.
Initially, I didn’t see it as an issue either. However, when reviewing cards, I often check the card info panel to see a card’s difficulty. It would be helpful to update the card info panel with the newly calculated difficulty, so users can track changes accurately. Without this, the difficulty shown may not align with the card’s actual progression, which could be misleading.
The revlog entries can’t be modified after they are created. But, you can check the updated value of difficulty in the upper part of the Card Info page.
